Competition Rules and Rider Expectations

The RMTA has adopted most of Sections 7-8 in the AMA/NATC Supplemental Riding Rules for Championship Trials Events (see below). If there is a conflict between RMTA Rules and AMA/NATC Rules, RMTA rules shall govern.

If you are new to Observed Trials, it’s most important to read the AMA/NATC rules regarding the definitions of faults (“dabs”) and failures.

We also have a few expectations around behavior in our pit area / land use.

  • Competitors, please do not “speed” in the pits – use caution for kids, etc…
  • Please wear helmets whenever riding your motorcycle
  • Please keep your dog (pet) on a leash
  • If using a generator, please observe quiet hours from 10pm to 7am
  • Please observe any rules related to land use, including designated practice areas, campfires, and private property boundaries, etc… *No alcohol at Stock Ranch.*
